Jordan Mills & Ian Patterson
Brewery Owner/Head Brewer & Pizza Chef
Jordan Mills started brewing at an early age where he first began home brewing in his parents garage at just 20 years of age. He then went on to work at Mill Street for a few years before deciding to start his own brewery journey and creating Rouge River Brewery in Markham. Throughout the early years of his brewing career Jordan became one of the few Advanced Cicerone certified beer sommeliers in Canada. Jump to 2023, and several national and provincial brewery awards later, Jordan and his Rouge River Brewery team are pouring not only exceptional craft beers, but also building a key community hub in Markham by hosting vendor markets, art workshops, DJ dance parties, trivia nights, live music and more! Rouge River Brewery recently won the 2023 Platinum Award for Best Bar & Pub in Markham.
During the pandemic, Ian Patterson started his pizza journey in his parents backyard as he wanted to take his unique experiences and skill set to an entrepreneurial level by starting his own pizza business. In less than a year, Patterson Pizza outgrew his solely Instagram operated business of pre-orders and in the summer of 2021, Ian brought Patterson Pizza to Rouge River Brewery as a permanent pop-up. With shared values on using high quality ingredients and prioritizing community support and engagement, Patterson Pizza and Rouge River Brewery have become dominating small local businesses in Markham. Serving up neapolitan pizzas with only high quality ingredients and a one of a kind garlic dip made with fresh dill, Ian continues to help make Markham a pizza destination. Patterson Pizza has won best pizza in Markham for two years in a row!
Together Ian and Jordan continue to showcase Markham as a destination for craft beer and pizza.
